HBO’s The Pacific

by Jaclyn Abergas on April 30th, 2010 | WMG
In the same fashion as Band of Brothers, HBO brings us another powerful and gripping miniseries set during World War II. The Pacific is a ten-part miniseries exploring the lives and stories of three US Marines: Robert Leckie, John Basilone and Eugene Sledge.

Pfc. Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale)

Robert Leckie was from Philadelphia and the youngest of 8 kids from an Irish Catholic family. He worked as a sportswriter for a local New Jersey newspaper before the war. He joined the Marines after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and fought in the Battle of Guadalcanal and Cape Gloucester.

The Hills: The Final Season

by Jenn McD. on April 28th, 2010 | Reality TV
It gives me great sadness to say that after the 6 season, MTV’s hit reality tv show, The Hills, will be ending. The show was a spin-off of the MTV hit, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. It followed Lauren Conrad in her move from Laguna to Los Angeles and the trials and tribulations with her friends Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and Audrina Partridge.

1st Season

Lauren decides to move to Los Angeles after her break up with Jason and to go to school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She and Heidi move in and meet Audrina who Read More

The Greatest Thing Since the DVR

by Ronald A. Rowe on April 26th, 2010 | Comedy
I love my DVR. It changed the way that I watch TV.  No more worrying about getting the kids to bed in time to watch House.  No need to say 'no' to any activity that conflicts with Lost. The DVR is the TV watching innovation of the decade, without any close second.  Until now.

Now, we have TV and movies on demand from Netflix.  Hundreds of movies and TV shows available upon the push of a button.  It started out that we could watch them on demand on our computer, which was nice, but not really all that comfortable or Read More

Glee

by Jaclyn Abergas on April 23rd, 2010 | WMG
Glee came back with its spring premiere last Tuesday. While I think it's lost a lot of its magic from the start of Season 1, the first episode definitely had its moments.

1. Rachel Berry

Whenever Rachel sings, it's always a performance. Who could blame her? With a voice as powerful as hers, it would be a shame to keep it in the background. Her performance this week of "Gives You Hell" clearly demonstrates how she is meant to dominate the stage. If I was Mr. Schuester, I'd have a hard time deciding whether I should give others a chance or Read More

Chuck and Blair, Blair and Chuck

by Jenn McD. on April 21st, 2010 | Drama
This past Monday on the CW’s Gossip Girl, we saw our most screwed up couple come to an official end. Ever since the end of season 2, Blair and Chuck have fascinated us with their wild games and their approaches to the issues that they face as products of New York’s Upper East Side.

This relationship begin to form back in season 1 when Blair and Nate had just broken up and Blair found out that Nate and Serena had slept together before Serena had skipped out of town. We all remember how it went down, don’t we? The Read More
