by Jaclyn Abergas on July 14th, 2010 |

Comedy, Drama

The nominations are out! Who do you think will win?

Outstanding Lead Actor, Comedy

Nominees:

Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm
Tony Shalhoub, Monk
Steve Carrell, The Office
Matthew Morrison, Glee
Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory
Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock

Prediction

I have a feeling Alec Baldwin or Steve Carrell will be grabbing the award again. They’ve proven every season why they were even nominated in the first place.

Outstanding Lead Actress, Comedy

Nominees

Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreation
Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures Of Old Christine
Lea Michele, Glee
Toni Collette, United States Of Tara
Tina Fey, 30 Rock

Prediction

Toni Collette does a great job playing multiple characters in United States of Tara, and I won’t be surprised if she does win.

Outstanding Lead Actor, Drama

Nominees

Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights
Hugh Laurie, House
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
Matthew Fox, Lost

Prediction

Hands down, I think Michael C. Hall should win. Anyone who can convince me to sympathize and root for a serial killer wins in my book.

Outstanding Lead Actress, Drama

Nominees

January Jones, Mad Men
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer
Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Glenn Close, Damages
Julianna Marguilies, The Good Wife
Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights

Prediction

Glenn Close is still amazing in Damages, but Julianna Marguilies surprised everyone with her TV comeback in The Good Wife. It could be a close call.

Outstanding Comedy Series

Nominees

Curb Your Enthusiasm, HBO
Modern Family, ABC
The Office, NBC
30 Rock, NBC
Nurse Jackie, Showtime
Glee, FOX

Prediction

I have a strong feeling Modern Family will be taking the award. It’s the hottest comedy show right now, and their unique approach works for them.

Outstanding Drama Series

Nominees

True Blood, HBO
Dexter, Showtime
Mad Men, AMC
The Good Wife, CBS
Breaking Bad, AMC
Lost, ABC

Prediction

I hope if Lost wins, they don’t give it because the show ended, but because it was an amazing show. That being said though, I think Dexter will take it.

Who do you think is going to win the award this year? Do you think the nominees deserve their nominations? Who do you think should have been nominated?

Let’s talk about it in the comments section.

More awards next week!

Stay tuned for the award ceremony show on August 29 on NBC.
