Has ‘Heroes’ Met It’s Arch-Nemesis?
When thoughts are mustered about the first few premieres of the current season of Heroes, only one question comes to mind. Does the famed show Heroes need help from a lesser sidekick?
Fans of the show have no doubt seen the first few episodes of this season and have realized the changes, which in many cases are extreme. Several supporting and less popular heroes, who will remain unnamed, have all but disappeared from the show. A love interest between two of the most popular heroes also has popped up seemingly out of nowhere. Which leaves the fans to further question, what other bland “treats” will pop up later in the season?
Is it too early to judge whether the show is truly sinking or not? Considering the fact that most television shows do lose their sweet taste over time, with few exceptions, will that ultimately be the case with Heroes?
NBC even reported that the season debut, and most recent broadcasts, had a decreasing number of ratings. Comments and blogs on fan sites everywhere also have indicated that near cult followers have begun to lose interest.
Maybe it’s time for the superheroes of Heroes to call in a favor to a few of their sidekicks and help bring the ratings back up. The second season was a little confusing and had quite excessive amounts of new heroes popping up here and there, but the overall ratings still remained high. Inclusively, the second season, while not the best, was very entertaining.
Let’s hope the producers and writers bring some more interesting content into the show and revive fan-boy interest before it’s too late.
