hungIn HBO’s Hung, Ray Drecker has not had the easiest life. In fact, it keeps getting worse and worse by the minute. The final straw broke when his house burned down, and he had to give up his kids. He needs to get a second job if he wants to really make ends meet. But he doesn’t have a lot of talents except for his basketball skills and his sexual advantages. Created by Dmitri Lipkin and Colette Burson, Hung is Ray Drecker’s personal account of how he tries to get his life back desperately.

Thomas Jane plays Ray Drecker, a middle-aged high school basketball legend has-been who’s stuck coaching the high school basketball team after an injury that ended his career. He’s a divorced father of two kids, fraternal twin siblings. He realizes his only asset is his large sexual organ, which he uses to get a second job and earn more money in the process.

Jane Adams plays Tanya Skagle, a struggling poet Ray meets at an entrepreneurship seminar. She works as a proofreader at a Detroit law firm that started out as a temp job two years ago. Because of their sexual encounter, Tanya suggests to Ray that he use his special tool to start his own business. Tanya partners up with him as his pimp.

Anne Heche plays Jessica Haxon, Ray’s ex-wife. Jessica and Ray were high school sweethearts, Ray being the jock, and Jessica, the cheerleader who followed Ray everywhere. She even followed Ray to Florida, where he trained, and Atlanta, where he got drafted. When they moved to their old hometown, so Ray could teach at their old high school and coach the basketball team, she realizes the magic has been swept away, and she leaves Ray for her dermatologist.

Other characters include Damon and Darby Drecker, Ray and Jessica’s kids, and Ronnie Haxon, Jessica’s husband.

Sundays, HBO, 10pm
