The late night show scene will be swapping around with old contenders changing time spots and one new fellow on his way in.
Jay Leno is leaving his normal spot for a new show at 10pm, which will air sometime in fall 2009, and Conan O’ Brien will be taking Leno’s old spot at 11:30 pm.
The new guy, Jimmy Fallon, who formerly starred on Saturday Night Live, will be taking Conan O’ Brien’s old spot. Fallon’s show will be rightfully titled Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but unlike his role on SNL Fallon’s new talk show won’t be something to laugh at.
Of course, Fallon will be cracking jokes for entertainment, but his first guest lineup is serious. Well-known celebrities usually don’t appear on late night talk shows for some time. Past trends have shown more under-the-radar celebrities for the first months of a new night show.
Robert DeNiro will be Fallon’s premier guest along with Bobby D. Then throughout the week the guest spaces go to Tina Fey, Cameron Diaz, and Drew Barrymore along with Donald Trump. Fallon’s musical guest stars will include Van Morrison, Jon Bon Jovi, and Ludacris.
Surely Fallon’s first line-up is impressive and it’s rather obvious his network, NBC, is interested in pulling in a fair share of ratings for his premier.
Jimmy’s house band (you know, the band that plays in the background besides the famous music guest) will be The Roots.
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon certainly will be interesting during its premier week; tune in to see how it turns out!
