Project Runway made the dramatic leap from being one of the top reality shows aired on Bravo TV to a tried-and-tested formula moving on to the Lifetime Network. But these weren’t the only changes. They’ve also changed cities. Project Runway doesn’t take place in New York anymore but in sunny Los Angeles. They’ve also changed producers and have welcomed the Bunim-Murray production.
Despite all the legal battles the show experienced for the past nine months, all systems are now go and Project Runway Season 6 will premiere on August 20 on the Lifetime Network!
Here are some things to look forward to on the new season of Project Runway!
1. New Location
Sunny Los Angeles offers a fresh and new twist to the show. The change of scenery has reinvigorated a new spark in everyone involved in the production.
2. More and More Celebrity Judges
This season alone, the likes of Eva Longoria Parker, Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilara, Rebecca Romjin and Bob Mackie, among others, serve as celebrity judges for the designers.
3. New Sponsors
There are a lot of new sponsors in Project Runway this season, changing the ones used in previous seasons. One big change is the magazine. Since Nina Garcia moved over to Marie Claire, the magazine sponsorship has also moved: from Elle to Marie Claire. TRESemme is also out and Garnier is in, and Bluefly will no longer provide the accessories and shoes for the models and designers. These will be provided by Macys.
4. New Prizes
There are no more cars being given away, but the prize now does include a trip for two to Paris, France!
5. Model Runway
After each episode of Project Runway, you will be able to watch Model Runway, which features the lives and troubles of the models of Project Runway.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the new season of Project Runway!
