Once I start, I just can’t seem to stop. I’m having a lot of fun trying to remember all the animated shows I used to watch as kid, and even when I got older.

13. Flintstone Kids

Ever wonder how Fred and Barney were as kids? How about their wives, Wilma and Betty? Thanks to Flintstone Kids, we never had to wonder again. The animated show features the Flintstone parents as 10-year-old kids and all their crazy adventures. Featuring Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty with their puppy, Dino, imaginations ran wild in this animated show. This also featured the debut of Captain Caveman and Son.

14. Garfield And Friends

Based on the comic strip by Jim Davis, Garfield and Friends was an animated show featuring the lazy adventures of Garfield, his owner, Jon Arbuckle, and his pet dog, Odie. Garfield and Friends was actually one of the longest animated programs shown on television with seven seasons, running from 1988 to 1994 on CBS and 1997 to 2000 on Nickeledeon.

15. The Real Ghostbusters

The Real Ghostbusters, an animated series that ran on ABC from 1986 to 1991, is based on the 1984 film, Ghostbusters, starring Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd. The same characters were featured in this series as they hunted ghosts in the city. I remember watching this religiously with my siblings, and we always imagined ourselves as part of the Ghostbusters team, if only to use the Proton Blaster and Containment Unit.

16. The Jetsons

I was such a big fan of George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, Astro and Rosie, otherwise known as The Jetsons. They made me believe in their world so much that I actually thought that by the time 2000 rolled in, we’d be living in skypad apartments and getting around in flying saucers. But it’s 2009 and we’re still living just above the ground.

Do you remember watching these shows? What else did you watch?

This is part 3 of the morning cartoons series.

What other morning cartoons do you watch? Here’s another list!

9. Popeye

I’m Popeye the sailor man. I’m strong to the finish ‘coz I eat me spinach. I’m Popeye the sailor man! Whoo whoo! You remember Popeye. He’s the muscular sailor who loves to eat spinach, gets constantly bullied by Bluto for his girlfriend, Olive Oyl. He actually got me to eat spinach because I believed it was going to make me stronger.

10. Dennis the Menace

Dennis the Menace represents every little boy growing up. He has two best friends: Joey, who always listens to his every word, and Ruff, his dependable dog. They were always experimenting with different “play techniques” and irritated the heck out of Mr. Wilson, Dennis’ next-door neighbor. Always amusing, Dennis seemed to charm everyone with his mischief because he made me think he was doing something fun, even when it wasn’t.

11. Beverly Hills Teens

Do you remember this show? I forgot about this until I came across it again. It’s the 80s cartoons equivalent to Gossip Girl and The OC. There is one thing different, though. These kids never seem to go to school even though they’re supposed to be in high school. I watched this when I was still in elementary school, so I had no idea that this was a total exaggeration of high school life. But it made me imagine what high school could be like and they got me excited about it. Sure wish I could go to school in a limo with a pool on it, though.

12. Alf

Alf, or Alien Life Form, a.k.a. Gordon Shumway, crash landed in the Tanner’s backyard from outer space. He was only supposed to be there for a short time while he fixed his spaceship. He ended up staying for four seasons. I loved Alf so much that I begged my parents to buy me the moving Alf doll. I ended up sleeping with Alf on my bed for a long time. Then he was taken off the air, and I never knew what happened to Alf. What do you guys think?

I’m getting in the hang of this cartoon series. Stay tuned for more!
