TV News: Upcoming Pilots and New Seasons

  • From the writer of HBO's Sex and the City comes the prequel everybody's been waiting for. The Carrie Diaries has been picked up by the CW and will feature Carrie Bradshaw's life before she moved to New York.

Every show has its hit-or-miss episodes, especially in the comedy genre: humor falls short, jokes go over the top, or the writers try to take a more "serious" route with a storyline. All can be mood killers when you're expecting an easy laugh. However, the one show that has yet to disappoint me on the humor front is definitely Modern Family. ABC has given the go-signal for full-season orders for new shows, Once Upon A Time and Last Man Standing, as well as for sophomore show, Happy Endings. New show, Pan Am, has received an order for five more scripts.
