The Not So Triumphant Return of Beavis and Butthead

After a decade-long hiatus, Beavis and Butthead returned to the small screen last week. Much fanfare accompanied the second coming of Mike Judge’s earliest cartoon creation. MTV hyped the show heavily and pumped up the angle of the surly teens commenting on reality TV shows such as Jersey Shore (as opposed to the bad music videos the boys watched in the old days). Fitting, I suppose, since MTV is no longer in the business of showing music videos, instead turning over much of its programming to reality TV.

He’s the muscular sailor who loves to eat spinach, gets constantly bullied by Bluto for his girlfriend, Olive Oyl. He actually got me to eat spinach because I believed it was going to make me stronger.

Growing up in the 80s (or even farther back) , don't you miss the cartoon shows you grew up with? I sure do! It's just so sad that a lot of the cartoons we loved back then are now a little hard to find. Some are available as used DVDs, but it's almost impossible to get brand new copies of them.
