What do you guys think of the first part of the list?

This week, we’re discussing four more shows.

Cougar Town

Missing Courteney Cox? No need to worry. You can watch her every Wednesday night on her newest show, Cougar Town. Cougar Town is about Jules Cobb (played by Courtney Cox), a 40-something newly divorced woman who ventures into the dating world again while living with her 17-year-old son. Together with her young assistant, Laurie (played by Busy Phillips), she reenters the dating scenes and makes up for lost time by dating younger men.

Wednesday, 930/830c, ABC

The Cleveland Show

The Cleveland Show stars Cleveland Brown, Family Guy’s Peter Griffin’s former neighbor. He’s come out on his own and has followed his former sweetheart, Donna, to their hometown, Stoolbend, Virginia. Together with his son, Cleveland Brown, Jr, his new wife, Donna, and Donna’s two kids, Roberta and Rallo, they start a new life.

Sunday, 830/730c, FOX

White Collar

In White Collar, Matt Bomer plays Neal Caffrey, a con man who escapes from maximum security federal prison three months before completing his four-year sentence to find his old girlfriend, Kate, who he believes is in trouble. Peter Burke (played by Tim DeKay), the same FBI agent who captured him the first time, captures him again. Caffrey strikes a deal with Burke: he will help Burke catch criminals as part of a work-release program. Burke hesitatingly agrees until Caffrey manages to convince him that he will not try to escape again.

Tuesday, 10/9c, USA

The Middle

The Middle stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie Heck, married to Mike Heck and mother to three kids, in the midwestern town of Orson, Indiana. Frankie is a not-so-successful car dealer at the local dealership, which is not a problem for her because her family is always the priority, not her career. Besides she’s got enough problems dealing with her husband, Mike, the sarcastic manager at the quarry who tends to be brutally honest, the rebel first-born Axl, where Guns’N'Roses was a factor in his conception, her socially-awkward daughter Sue, who always tries to get into anything but fails all the time, and her youngest and smartest of the kids, Brick.

Wednesday, 830/730c, ABC

What do you think? What was your favorite new show in 2009?

Ah, yes, TV’s fall season has started officially. And with it comes the promise of new good shows, but that’s not always the case.

This week, four prominent shows shows premiered on network television.

On CBS:

Accidentally on Purpose

I talked about this show a couple of weeks ago, and I was a little excited to see it. It was fun. Jenna Elfman wasn’t trying to be over the top as Billie, and Ashley Jensen (who plays her best friend, Olivia) and Lennon Parham (who plays her sister, Abby) are the perfect companions for her. They were like the devil and the angel, and it wasn’t always apparent who the devil and the angel were. The baby-daddy, played by Jon Foster, was interesting but not quite charming. I’m not entirely sure I want to continue watching it.

On ABC:

Cougar Town

I loved this show. Courtney Cox is funny as Julie Cobb, the 40 year old divorced mother, who finds herself thrown back in the dating world again. Dan Byrd, who plays her teenage son, Travis, is equally memorable in this show. One memorable scene was when Cox and her son got home, and her son was giving her a hard time about her new posters all over town. Her neighbor comes to tease her, and she starts pushing him to the ground while she screams out all her frustrations. Every time he came back up, she pushed him back down. Definitely a show to watch out for!

Eastwick

Three people who live in the same town but have never spoken to each other before bond when they feel a connection after making a wish. They start to discover powers they never had before and use them to their advantage. It’s not a show I highly recommend. The characters were uninspiring, the acting was lackluster. Maybe if it was a half-hour show, I’d watch it.

Flashforward

Flashforward is promising. It actually reminds me of Heroes, Season 1. I’m hoping it won’t go the route of that show, though. It’s got curious me the way Lost got me curious, but it didn’t have the same writing. I’m more excited really because Jack Davenport is in the show. I am looking forward to next week.

Were you able to watch these shows? What did you think?
