Are you excited? Which ones are you looking forward to watching?

CW

The Secret Circle

Cassie Blake is just a normal, happy teenage girl until her mother, Amelia, dies in an accidental fire. She moves to Chance Harbor, Washington to be with her sweet grandmother, Jane, a town where everybody knows more about Cassie than she does. When she starts school, a group of teenagers befriend and induct her into their secret circle. Then her new friends tell her they’re all descended from a powerful line of witches and so is Cassie. Cassie doesn’t believe them until they show her how to unlock her magical powers. Then Cassie discovers her mother’s old notebook full of spells and realizes her mother’s death might not have been an accident, after all. The Secret Circle stars Britt Robertson as Cassie and Ashley Crow as Jake.

The Secret Circle will air Thursdays at 9pm.

Ringer

Sarah Michelle Gellar is back on TV and this time, she plays a woman trapped in another woman’s identity. Gellar plays Bridget, a woman who has just witnessed a murder and she tries to run away and escape by taking the identity of her estranged but wealthy twin sister, Siobhan. When Siobhan mysteriously disappears, she takes over her life. But what Bridget doesn’t realize is that Siobhan has a few secrets of her own and her seemingly perfect, quiet life might not be so idyllic after all, especially when someone tries to kill Bridget in Siobhan’s penthouse.

Ringer will air Tuesdays at 9pm.

Hart Of Dixie

Hart Of Dixie stars Rachel Bilson, as a hotshot doctor from New York, who moves to Bluebell, Alabama when her dreams fall apart. She’s set to work with a doctor from Alabama, Dr. Harley Wilkes, after an invitation from him but finds out when she gets there that he has passed away and has left his practice to her. Now, she’s trying to figure out the Southerners while she competes with the other doctor in town, Dr. Brick Breeland, whose daughter, Lemon, has not taken a liking to her.

Hart of Dixie will air Mondays at 9pm.

Tune in next week for new shows from CBS and ABC.

The CW’s Smallville has come a long way from the original premise of exploring the adventures of a young Clark Kent growing up and learning to deal with his powers – far beyond those of mortal men – in a small town in rural Kansas. Lex Luthor, Clark’s best friend but destined to be his greatest enemy, is long gone from the show. Pete Ross, Clark’s BFF from childhood, disappeared years ago. Lana Lang, Clark’s long-time love interest, has left to wander the earth. Pa Kent died and Ma Kent ran off to join Congress. Cute-as-a-button teenager Chloe left and returned as tough-as-nails grown-up Chloe.

Smallville has rambled through various phases, moving from a comic book fan-service dream to a standard and uninspired teen drama to a superhero mash-up to its current state of continuity-heavy melodrama. The Freak of the Week formula that once made Smallville the flagship of the WB has given way to a long, can’t-miss-a-week, ongoing story line.

Superman’s comic book wife, Lois Lane, along with such long-time comic book super heroes such as Hawkman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Black Canary have become regulars on the show, making the newest season of Smallville into a sort of pre-Justice League on TV. The current iteration of Smallville should be my favorite thing on TV – superheroes, solid commitment to continuity, and Erica Durance.

But somewhere along the way, Small has lost the very soul that made it great. Talking heads, over-the-top melodrama, unreasonable leaps of logic, and cheesy dialog have overwhelmed a grand concept. The latest episode, “Collateral,” was blatantly clipped from the hit movie Inception. Smallville has had a good run, provided us with some good years, but its time is nearing an end.

My one hope for the final episodes is that we get to see Clark transform into Superman. I know that the show’s creators have held a “no tights, no flights” policy since the very beginning, but here’s hoping that they’re willing to break it – just once – for the final episode.

A conspiracy thriller starring Jason Ritter, The Events, will premiere Monday nights. Jerry Bruckheimer‘s The Chase battles CSI: Miami. On Wednesdays, Law & Order: SVU will be flanked on both sides by JJ Abrams‘ new spy drama, The Undercovers, and the newest member of the franchise, Law & Order: Los Angeles. Outsourced will be joining 30 Rock and The Office on Thursday comedy night. Jimmy Smits will be invading your Friday nights with Outlaw.

This past Monday on the CW’s Gossip Girl, we saw our most screwed up couple come to an official end. Ever since the end of season 2, Blair and Chuck have fascinated us with their wild games and their approaches to the issues that they face as products of New York’s Upper East Side.

This relationship begin to form back in season 1 when Blair and Nate had just broken up and Blair found out that Nate and Serena had slept together before Serena had skipped out of town. We all remember how it went down, don’t we? The back of a limo, champagne and Chuck Bass himself all proved to be a lethal combination for Blair Waldorf. After a brief reconciliation of their relationship, Nate and Blair called it quits for good. After Blair’s pregnancy scandal, Chuck kinda kicked Blair to the curb for a while telling her that she became like any other slutty girl on the Upper East side and that the thrill of chasing her was over. At the end of season 1, Serena’s mother, Lily, and Chuck’s father, Bart, got married, and Chuck made the traditional best man speech. Although publicly referring to his father and new bride, Chuck’s toast was a declaration of love for Blair. He promised to take her to Europe for the summer, but after a conversation with his father on what relationships do to the “people of our world,” Chuck abandoned Blair at the helipad and forced her to go to Europe alone.

In season 2, they attended the annual cricket game in upstate New York. It’s from this episode throughout the entire season that they went back and forth trying to put in words their feelings for each other. “Just say it. 3 words, 8 letters.” Blair finally said it, and Chuck had another breakdown. In the season 2 finale, before Blair and Serena jet off to Europe for the summer again, Chuck finally said those 3 small words.

In the season 3 premiere, Gossip Girl suspected Chuck was up to his old ways, but it turned out Blair and Chuck had come up with some pretty interesting games to play with each other. In season 3 Blair and Chuck became closer than ever, especially dealing with the death of Bart, Serena’s car accident, finding out that Chuck’s mother wasn’t dead and Chuck’s Uncle Jack coming back for some revenge. This revenge was what ultimately made Blair and Chuck break up. Although they were a pretty twisted couple, they were perfect for each other, and I’m sad to see them apart.
