As most young women know, a brand new season of Teen Mom 2 just began a few weeks ago. Not surprisingly, there is no lack of drama in the series’ first few episodes. The amount of petty drama that takes place in this show either makes you love it or hate it. Having said that, I am one of its viewers that loves it. Not only is it full of insane drama, but it is also true, gritty reality. There is so much drama involved in Teen Mom 2 you would think it would be a set up scripted show. The best part is getting to know the characters, laughing with them, crying with them, and feeling for their pain.

For those who don’t know, Teen Mom 2 consists of four moms who gave birth as teens. They are Jenelle, Chelsea, Leah, and Kailyn. They were first introduced to us when they each had their own episode on the series 16 and Pregnant. Since Teen Mom 2 is a spinoff of the original series, each was given a place on the show to follow their lives and their children’s as they grow both as adults and kids alike. Besides them being stars of the show, their toddlers are also a major part. Jace (Jenelle’s son), Aubree (Chelsea’s daughter), Ali and Aleeah (Leah’s twins), and Isaac (Kailyn’s son) are the other stars of the reality scene. With all four of the girls in the cast, their children, and the men involved in their lives, drama never fails to occur.

So far this season, if you are not an avid watcher of the show, all four girls are off to a rocky start. Last season left off with Jenelle on probation for her use of drugs and she had a stint in rehab. However, she was on the right path this season until peer pressure won her over. She ended up failing her drug test at one of her probation appointments and was told she could either serve time in jail or extend her probation. Jenelle never got the chance to decide because she failed another drug test and got arrested right away. Her mom Barbara refused to bail her out of jail, so she was still there in the last episode. In the first few episodes, Chelsea got back with Aubree’s father Adam and celebrated her daughter’s second birthday. She has yet to face any major drama in the first few weeks. Leah has had the most difficult time, due to the fact that her and Corey finalized their divorce in the last episode. Last but not least is Kailyn who found out that Jo, her ex, got a new girlfriend. In light of that, she contacted Jordan, her ex that she cheated on, and they decided to get back together.

Overall, Teen Mom 2 is a gritty, real life drama that is sure to keep you talking. If you want something juicy, this is the perfect show for you! Check it out on Monday nights at 9/8c.
