It gives me great sadness to say that after the 6 season, MTV’s hit reality tv show, The Hills, will be ending. The show was a spin-off of the MTV hit, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. It followed Lauren Conrad in her move from Laguna to Los Angeles and the trials and tribulations with her friends Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and Audrina Partridge.
1st Season
Lauren decides to move to Los Angeles after her break up with Jason and to go to school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She and Heidi move in and meet Audrina who lives in their building. Heidi withdraws from FIDM and accepts a job at Bolthouse Productions. Lauren accepts an internship at Teen Vogue where she meets Whitney. Jason follows Lauren to LA where they get back together. Lauren’s decides not to go to Paris for Fashion Week in an effort to spend the summer with Jason in Malibu.
2nd Season
Lauren and Jason have broken up. Heidi has started dating Spencer. Heidi plays matchmaker to Lauren and Spencer’s friend Brody, which doesn’t last too long. After the breakup, Heidi pushes one of Lauren’s friends onto Brody and damages the relationship that the three had together. Lauren begins hanging out with Whitney, Audrina, and Lo, due to her issues with Heidi and Spencer. At the end of the season, Spencer asks Heidi to move in with him.
3rd Season
Sex-tape rumors about Lauren run wild. Heidi, accused of spreading the rumors with Spencer, claims she knows nothing. Randomly, Lauren becomes friends with Spencer’s sister Stephanie, even though earlier in the season, Stephanie nearly ripped Lauren’s head off. After a trip to Paris, Whitney is looking to step up in her career and begins working for People’s Revolution, the fashion PR firm run by Kelly Cutrone. Audrina starts dating Justin Bobby.
4th Season
Lauren, Lo, and Audrina move in together. Audrina and Lo aren’t getting along. Spencer gets Heidi fired when they both get a little too drunk at one of Heidi’s work functions. In an effort to make amends, Spencer convinces Heidi to elope. Heidi’s mom, Darlene, strongly objects. Rumors that Lauren and Justin Bobby hooked up circulate through the cast and strain Audrina and Lauren’s friendship. Whitney accepts a position with Dian Von Furstenberg and moves to New York City.
5th Season- Part 1
Lauren turns 23, and Heidi crashes the party in hopes of regaining her friendship with Lauren. Lauren won’t allow it unless Heidi breaks up with Spencer, who has been out on the town flirting with Stacey the bartender. Spencer and Heidi take couples counseling sessions in hopes to mend their trust toward each other. Spencer proposes properly to Heidi and apologizes to Lauren in hopes that Lauren will come to the wedding in support of Heidi. Initially Lauren says no, but due to some urging from producer Adam DiVello, Lauren goes.
5th season-Part 2
Lauren has left the show. Kristen Cavallari, another member of the Laguna Beach has taken over as the new lead in the show. Audrina and Kristen fight over Justin Bobby. Heidi decides she wants to have a baby. Spencer doesn’t. Brody and Jayde struggle in their relationship. Holly, Heidi’s sister struggles with a drinking problem.
6th Season
