Worst House Ever

by Ronald A. Rowe on April 19th, 2010 |

Drama

Are there any House fans out there?  I honestly can say that while not every episode is a masterpiece, I’ve never come away disappointed.  Until this week.

Did you watch it?  The missing baby episode?  What we had were five separate stories, none of which were very interesting.  It seemed more like a daytime soap opera than an episode of the best drama on TV.

Story #1 – A baby is missing.  The hospital goes on lockdown, setting up the other four stories.  As the police, the baby’s family, and the hospital staff make a desperate search, only Dr. Cuddy is brilliant enough to… look in a nearby laundry bin.

Story #2 – Wilson and 13 play ‘truth or dare’ in the cafeteria.  13 lies about everything, and Wilson examines his unhealthy codependent relationship with House.

Story #3 – Taub and Foreman suddenly decide that it would be interesting to see life through House’s eyes by taking drugs.  They run around like idiots for awhile and envy each other’s life.

Story #4 – Cameron is back.  She wants Chase to sign the divorce papers.  She says she never loved him.  He says good, now he can get on with his life.  She suddenly does love him, or at least settles for a good schtooping in a hospital exam room.

Story #5 – House talks to a dying guy.  The guy dies.

There was no case.  None of the hallmarks that make this such a great show were present.  House talking to a dying guy was sadly the most interesting thing that happened all night.  Except for 13 flashing Taub, of course.  That’s good TV.
